Now in its 20th year, the show was created in response to three ideas: (I) a desire to showcase Scarsdale students as part of a constructive and giving community, (II) a passion for great cars both new and vintage, and (III) the opportunity to raise significant funds for area charities. In fall of 2003, the founders were talking about doing something fun and worthwhile involving their love of cars, and the simple idea of a car day snowballed into their first Concours. Everyone with whom they spoke loved the idea, and they received active support from numerous constituencies including the police, local government, local merchants and car collectors near and far. The event serves as a great lesson that anything is possible.
Over the past 20 years, the event has raised over $750,000.00 for charities across Westchester County. With Evan and Denis now pursuing business careers, a group of accomplished local car enthusiasts has assumed responsibility for the event to ensure that the legacy established by Evan and Denis will continue for many years. Each year, the board has continued to evolve, with the torch passing from the graduating seniors to the younger high school students. With the same enthusiasm, the current students strive to put on an exciting and memorable show, which benefits the local community and area charities which bring valuable services to those in need. The current board of directors includes numerous father and son teams who share the passion and joy of classic cars and a desire to give back to the community. The Scarsdale Concours wishes to sincerely thank the car owners, the official sponsors, the advertisers, and of course, the attendees, as they are the heart of the show!
This isn't your average Sunday car meet. The Scarsdale Concours d'Elegance features over 150 meticulously curated vehicles, ranging from antique classics and vintage racers to modern exotic supercars like Ferrari and Rolls-Royce. "Concours d'Elegance" literally means a "competition of elegance," and you'll see automotive history and design at its finest.
